Fifties Console with Drawer

Description

The design of the Fifties Console with Drawer was inspired by mid-century modern furnishings. Mid-century modern was an architectural, interior, product and graphic design movement of the mid-20th century which influenced developments in furniture and architecture from around 1933 to 1965. Each table base is entirely handcrafted by a casting process. Molten metal is poured into a sand mold which can be used only once. The raw casting is then painstakingly finished by a master craftsman by careful sanding and filing. This is a long and laborious process. The top is bench-made of the finest wood entirely by hand. With its European style timeless elegance, it makes an exceptional console or entryway table for upscale residential and hospitality interiors. Robust metal construction of the base allows it to support a heavy wood top without flexing. Four polished bronze glides are provided which also serve as levelers – a useful feature to have when the floor is uneven. Offered in a variety of finishes, the Fifties Console with Drawer was designed by Shah Gilani, ISFD. Custom sizing is available.

Ours is an artisanal product made in a traditional and non-mechanized way. We are able to design and manufacture consoles ranging in style from traditional through art nouveau and art deco, to modern and contemporary. One of the special services we offer is the ability to customize our product to fit the client’s specification. Drawings are made and finish samples prepared for client approval.
