Hacienda Headboard

Description

Hacienda is a large estate, especially in a Spanish-speaking country. Some haciendas were plantations, mines, or factories. Many haciendas combined these productive activities. The term is imprecise, but usually refers to landed estates of significant size. Smaller holdings were termed estancias or ranchos that were owned almost exclusively by Spaniards. In Spanish America the owner of a hacienda was called the hacendado or patrón. In recent decades the term has been used in the United States to refer to an architectural style associated with the earlier estate manor houses. Haciendas originated on Spanish land grants made to conquistadors and crown officials. Many ordinary Spaniards could also petition for land grants from the crown. The system started in present-day Mexico when the Spanish Crown granted to Hernán Cortés the title of Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca in 1529. It gave him a tract of land that included all of the present state of Morelos. Cortés was also granted encomiendas, that gave him access to a vast pool of indigenous labor. Inspired by foregoing and by the furnishings of those luxurious manor houses, Shah Gilani, ISFD, designed the Hacienda Headboard. Available in King and Queen sizes, the headboard has a handmade wood frame. Upholstery is in COM which can be specified with our without tufting. Offered in a variety of finishes and accents. It can also be made by special order as a complete bed by adding a footboard and side rails.

We are able to design and manufacture beds and headboards ranging in style from traditional through art nouveau and art deco, to modern and contemporary. One of the special services we offer is the ability to customize our product to fit the client’s specification. Drawings are made and finish samples prepared for client approval.
