The Parisian Side Table Table with Wood Parquetry Top was designed for use in upscale homes and hospitality interiors where a small table might be needed. The design of this table was inspired by the work of Gilbert Poillerat (1902 – 1988) who was a French Designer and metalworker. Between 1921 and 1927 he worked in the studio of the famous Edgar Brandt as a designer and creator of wrought-iron furniture and furnishings. That’s where he developed a distinctive style of his own that blended traditional craftsmanship with modernist aesthetics. He played a significant role in enhancing the acceptance of iron work in high-end home furnishings. With the forgoing in view Shah Gilani, ISFD, designed this exquisite side table. The base is made by a casting process. Molten metal is poured into a mold which can be used only once. The rough casting is then painstakingly smoothed by a master craftsman. This is a long and laborious process requiring great attention to detail. The wood parquetry top is hand-made out of the finest rosewood. The table base is offered in a wide range of hand-applied multi-layer finishes. The wood parquetry top is available in a variety of wood stains.
