The design of the Venice Four Drawer Chest was inspired by Venetian architecture. Venice, the capital of the Veneto, has a rich and diverse architectural style, the most famous of which is the Gothic style. Venetian Gothic architecture is a term given to a Venetian building style which combines the Gothic lancet arch with Byzantine and Ottoman influences. The Venice Four Drawer Chest is a fusion of both Byzantine and Islamic forms overlaid on a Latin Christian foundation. Entirely hand carved in rosewood, the chest has Melamine-lined drawers which run on the finest quality drawer slides. The drawer pulls are hand-forged polished bronze. Four polished bronze glides are provided which also serve as levelers – a useful feature when the floor is uneven. The Venice Four Drawer Chest makes an exceptional dresser for upscale residential and hospitality interiors. This exquisitely executed piece is offered in a variety of finishes and accents. It is shown here in our Verdigris finish with Antique Gilt accents.
