Indies Nightstand was inspired by furnishing of the West Indies in the British Colonial style. At its height in the 19th and 20th centuries the British Empire spanned the globe, including plantations in the West Indies. Those who established these plantations brought with them traditional styles from Britain which were then adapted for local production using native materials like exotic woods, bamboo, and sisal. The Indies Nightstand with hand-carved reeds and ties at the corners mimic cane and rattan furnishings. Bamboo carvings on the doors and drawers evoke memories of a bygone era which was genteel and elegant with furnishings that were relaxed and comfortable. The Indies Nightstand was designed by Shah Gilani, ISFD, and is hand-made of the finest rosewood. It is offered in a variety of finishes. The polished bronze tassel door pulls and knob drawer pull are hand-crafted and hand-polished. There are polished bronze levelers under the feet which is a useful feature, especially if the floor is uneven. This exquisite piece is entirely handmade.

We are able to design and manufacture case pieces ranging in style from classic, through art nouveau, art deco, to modern and contemporary. One of the special services we offer is the ability to customize our product to fit the client’s specification. Drawings are made and finish samples prepared for client approval.
