Description

Bistro Brass or Copper Top Dining Table (Square or Elongated) was designed for use in upscale eclectic homes, restaurants, cafes, brasseries, wine cellars, and bars. With its European style timeless elegance it makes an exceptional brass or copper kitchen or breakfast table. The table top is made of heavy 18 gauge brass or copper sheet. Most manufacturers use 36 gauge material which is paper-thin. The sheet metal is stretched over a robust steel frame and NOT cheap particle board or plywood. The top surface is lightly distressed and patinated for a mellow appearance. The underside of the table top is coated with sound deadening material. This exquisite table is equipped with four bronze glides which also serve as levelers – a useful feature when the floor is uneven. The metal base is made by a casting process. Molten metal is poured into a mold that can be used only once. The rough casting is painstakingly smoothed by a master craftsman. This a long and laborious process requiring great attention to detail. The base is offered in a variety of finishes. With its robust metal construction it makes an exceptional dining table for commercial use. Rivet-head trim on the edge of the table top is available for a slight upcharge. It may be mentioned here that brass and copper have natural anti-bacterial properties which makes them ideal materials for table tops.
