Truss Copper or Brass Dining Table

Description

The design of the Truss Copper or Brass Dining Table was inspired by architectural trusses. Typically a truss is a structure that consists of members organized into connected triangles so that the overall assembly behaves as a single unit. It is a framework of rafters, posts, and struts, supporting a roof, bridge, or other structure. Given that a triangle is uniquely resistant to distortion by stress, a truss has the capability of supporting considerable external loads over a large span. The heavy Vee form of this dining table base conveys a feeling of brute strength. The table base has a sculptural quality akin to an art piece or a contemporary sculpture. The base and top are made of heavy 18 gauge copper or brass sheet which is stretched over a robust steel framework. The copper or brass top is 3″ thick. The entire table is lightly distressed and patinated for a mellow aged appearance. The base is also available separately for use with a glass top. Designed by Shah Gilani, ISFD. We are able to design and manufacture dining tables ranging in style from traditional through art nouveau and art deco, to modern and contemporary. One of the special services we offer is the ability to customize our product to fit the client’s specification. Drawings are made and finish samples prepared for client approval. Custom work is our specialty.
